My review of this marvelous piece of work is running just a link to the right. Get Low follows a Hermit from the 1930's who decides to throw a funeral for himself. Inviting everyone to come to tell the terrible stories they've heard about him. But they wont be telling stories, he will. This film has some of the most astonishing performances in a while, along with great cinematography, a perfect cast and a well rounded screenplay. Its only playing in 14 theaters, so if you can see it, then do so.
So many pictures nowadays aim to deconstruct the magic of small town living; although, very few do it with the heart and poignancy of Bogdanovich's breakthrough film. He manages to capture the life and death of a small town by combining the coming of age stories of Anarene's youths as well as the slow economic defeat of its older residents. Beautiful cinematography by Robert Surtees and a butt load of big screen debuts (including Jeff Bridges) make this film a must see.

Scott's Take on Film Adaptations
"Now a lot of Adaption’s happen for many reasons. Mainly it’s because Mainstream Hollywood gets lazy and tries to lure in fans of specific series ito a death trap. But another more logical and artistic approach is taking a story that’s been told before and bringing it to a new light and showing their take on that specific material. But that’s very rare."
